I have all my new parts coming in tomorrow and will be installing a new set of gears in the rear end. I bought the install kit that comes with all the bearings, shims, and seals.

I figure while I have everything apart I may as well replace the axle bearings and seals. I found bearings at a local store but was wondering did our cars come out with the 28 spline in some and 31 spline in some as the older mustangs did?

I have a 2006 GT and don't want to get into the job to find out I have the wrong bearing.

If you order the bearings for your make/model/year car, it should be no problem getting the right ones.

You are brave to undertake this yourself, gears are tricky to get set up right and it's one of the jobs that most do-it-yourselfers don't do themselves . . . I hope you know what you are doing, good luck!
