Rear Shock Install Question

847 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  KK95GT
I remember back in the day that you had to purge new shocks before installing them. Basically you had to push the piston rod completely in and out 3 or 4 times to "set" them, even with gas charged shocks. Do you still need to do this with newer designed shocks?

I would say no you dont have to, but I am sure it cant hurt. Its probably most useful if they have been laying on their sides for a long period of time.
Never heard that one before!

Might as well just do it and then slap em on. Wouldn't think you'd hurt anything by doing it....
