Has anyone removed the fake gas cap on the trunk? I'd like to remove it because I think it looks cheap and it would really clean up the back of the car. I assume it's just held on there with some type of adhesive? Has anyone removed this and have experience doing so?

Thanks.

But on the '05 to '09s, the rear panel is flat under the faux gas cap.

I think on the '10+s, the faux gas cap sits on a raised area, in which case you'll need something else to cover.

You are correct. I've taken mine off twice already (don't ask). There is a raised metal section with holes in it directly under the cap. Unless you are taking it off so you can paint, install vinyl, or put a CDC panel on, you'll want to leave it there.

Ahh, awesome, thanks. This is why I asked the question, to see if someone knew something I didn't. I won't be removing it now, glad I didn't try it myself.
