Repainting..Remove Ground Effects?

2686 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  spdjnky_42
Ok, so i'm dropping my GT off to be painted next week. I am in the process of removing all i can before he gets the car. I've got the metal windshield & hatch trim removed, front & rear bumpers, door moldings(one was missing, other was peeling up), all the plastic trim pieces, etc.. I am also taking the quarter windows out since I have a fresh set to go on the car. BUT...those ground effects look like a real pain in the arse. I want to hear from the guys who have done this before. Leave 'em on or take them off for painting??? Any problems down the road? it's a daily driver, not a show car so it doesn't have to be perfect....just nice. Opinions/experiences welcome!

I would just leave them off unless u plan on taking them off or switching to dif ones that show more. It dosent seem like there is a need to take them off anyhow just my 2Cents
Take the ground effects off you will most likely find some rust, unless you are a rust free state. Just remove the screws and push plugs they are under the car and in the fender well. Then just pull out and up the rest just ride on a track/bracket
