I recently replaced the fuel filter on my 1998 3.8L V6 and now when I turn on the air(vent or a/c) I smell gas. I'm pretty sure I replaced the fuel filter correctly and didn't have any problems. I took the old one off and clicked the new one back in. Any help is much appreciated, Thanks, Michael.

When you changed the fuel filter, How did you release the pressure in the lines?

Similar problem
Lets assume there are no leaks, do not check with a naked flame :laugh: I had a very strong petrol smell which I could not find a solution apart from not filling over half full and not screaming round bends.
Then I was informed SN95 have a weak spot on the filler neck gasket, unfortunately you are unable to check without removing the fuel tank.
The gasket is only a few $ but the tank removal is better done over a pit or on a ramp, it took 2 of us just over an hour to do, the gasket was split, now replaced, smell gone.:bigthumbsup
