Got a 71 mustang convertible with some major rust areas . Like radiator support ,front floor supports, front aprons, main front frame supports have rusted out areas. Some I can buy new ,but what year and style will match up to my convertible ,if I end up buying a parts car. And front floor supports come new in 14guage, my car should be 12 guage, would it be a good idea just to weld a peice of 12 guage in the bottom of those supports to give them more strength. And as far as the main front frame is it possible to just weld in new steel where needed. Thanks for all your advice.

A 72 will match up perfectly with everything. A 73 is ok too, but the front fenders and rear quarters are a little different around the bumper area due to 1973 impact laws.
