Hi! Found this forum and hope you can offer me some suggestions. I am trying to replace the missing chrome trim on my steering wheel. Despite following directions to heat both ring and hub then using soapy water to slide ring into place I cannot get the ring on. Any suggestions? Thank you!

In extreme cases, where the mushroom is hardened with age, you should dip the mushroom in boiling water until it's almost too hot to touch, then slide the ring on. Heating the ring is a waste of time.
