Rewiring Driving Lights

I would like to have the driving lights on only when park lights are on. The drivings lights will not come on until the headlights are on. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
thanks:eek:

"fog lights" only work w/headlights on - he wants to be able to have them on w/only parking lights on or control separately - at least on 96-98.
Just take the wires from the fog lights and run them with the parking light wires instead of the headlights. Or you can put them on a constant power source and put a toggle switch inside your car so they can come on with nothing else on. But the easiest way is to just piggyback them on the parking light wires.
Thanks so much I thought that was the best way. I guess you can just pull out the switch for the headlights and check out which wire goes to parklights, headlights, foglights then piggyback them? Just need a little reassurance.
The best way to do it is to unplug the clip on the foglight, follow those wires and the ones from the parking light till you find where their connected to the headlights. Take the fog light wires off of the headlight and splice them into the parking light wires. Youll want a insulated wire connector (the kind you crimp with pliers) when attaching them to the parking light wires. After you crimp them together run some electrical tape over the clip to ensure no water gets in and you'll be all set. Thats the easy way to do it but if youve got a bit more time and patience Id go with the toggle switch plan. You disconnect the fog light wires from the headlights and hook them to the toggle switch. Then find a power source such as a cigarette lighter that is always on when the cars on and split that wire to power the toggle switch.

I dont like splicing exterior wires like lighting wires but sometimes you have to do it. For instance I put a small accent light in my front bumper vent and wound up splicing it into my fog light so when I hit the fog light button in my car it came on also. As long as you use insulated wire connectors and electrical tape it up afterwards youll be all set.

Make sense?

so on pre 99 the fog lights wont stay on like on the 02s.... because i can run parking lights with foglights by pressing the floglight button and pulling lights switch to parking lights.
yeah me too, all you have to do is pull out your headlight know half way for your parking lights, then if you want the fog lights on with the parking lights then you press your foglight switch on the center. then when you want the headlights on you pull the know the rest of the way out. not too hard really.
Im not sure the 99's and lower had the fog light button. I know my buddies got a 98 w/ fogs and his does the same thing, only comes on with the headlights and no switch inside. We took and installed a toggle switch in his to seperate them from the headlights. But yeah in the 02's its already set up for ya on a switch inside and all you gotta do is pull the light knob once to get them on.
Heres a article that should offer some help for ya:

This is for a 99 and with the fog light button wired to the headlights. This is for the models that had the button in the center section. They took the power from the convertible motor and spliced it into the switch so it had independant power without the headlights on. This is also what you can do from another power source such as the cigarette lighter. If yours is like my buddies and you dont have a switch you can always put a toggle in anywhere you want.

Edit:

Heres the other article for rewiring without the fog light button.
