So I recently bought the S&B CAI and SCT Tuner combo from RPM outlet... Let me first say, that their prices are the best I've found but as far as service they are as bad a Michael Jackson with kids (NOT TO BE TRUSTED). So I received my package in a timely fashion but it was missing the helix throttle body, which also comes with the combo and one of the stabilizer bars for the CAI. So the S&B CAI didn't fit right in my car and the SCT would not work with my car. So I wrote the exchange department (which is the at the bottom and there response is at the top) Their return policy is ridiculous!! They even went so far to say if any oil or fingerprints are on the package or product they would refuse the return... Has anyone else had this problem or has a suggestion on what I should do?

Subject: SCT Tuner & S&B CAI combo...

Hello I recently ordered the S&B, SCT combo. My invoice#864294 and my phone#818-974-3831. I had extreme trouble with both products... The S&B Filter doesn't fit right and was missing a stabilizer bar that wouldn't help. I also didn't receive the helix throttle body. As for the SCT Tuner my mechanic and I spend three hours on Tuesday trying to get it to work with the new downloads that Sam (RPM employee) sent to me with no luck. Then on Thursday we spent literally 6 hours on and off the phone with SCT talking to Andy who also sent us updates for it and still nothing... I would like to return both items for exchange for the GMS Diablo Tuner and AEM intake... I right now am on vacation but would like to receive them by the time I get back so I am willing to use another credit card to get them sent to me as long as the Items I sent back can be credited to the new card I use...
Thank you for your time and service,
Alex Menell

I've been warning people about this 2-bit operation for a while now. Pay a few more bucks and use a reputable seller. I like jegs.com and summit.com.

He installs everythign he sales. He does Kenny Bell kits to my knowledge, but that doesn't mean he can source another brand.

I second this. I have never had a problem with either place. I got my Shifter from Summit and my Mufflers from Jegs. Ordered both online and had them here quick.

My headers, H-pipe, C&L, and SCT Tuner all came from Evolution performance and I recieved superior customer support from Fred. The guy packaging parts at his shop accidentally sent me a tuner for an Auto and when I called him with the problem he spent 2 hours with me on the phone tellign me how to load the correct programs onto my tuner and getting them loaded into the car.
Was I upset, nope. Like I told him every company makes mistakes, its how they resolve the issues that earn my future business. So after that I purchased my headers from him and when I called him on a saturday he was still very patient in answering my questions. That is why I recomend his shop so much.

Well, I was an RPMOutlet supporter (I think the last one) until today. I ordered $433 worth of parts from them on 8/31 and never received any order confirmation. However, they somehow managed to charge my credit card twice for that amount. I called customer service today and they have no record of my order. Huh??? I've since reported the cc charges as fraudulent and I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I'm stunned these people can manage to walk and breathe at the same time.

i third it.:bigthumbsup i have ordered tons of parts in the past from both places, and have had some items i needed to return. all business went great with zero problems. Jegs tech line is absolutely awesome too. they know the parts that they sell and can help you troubleshoot most problems that you may have with them. with Jegs and Summit though, your dealing with people who have been in the aftermarket parts business almost since its inception. (shoot, Jegs pratically started the aftermarket racing parts industry by being the first to bring the parts to the people, before them, it was hard to get parts unless you had a performance parts shop nearby) that is why they have much better service than all these overnight dot com stores like rpmoutlet. i ordered my hurst from there with no probs, but i feel lucky and wont press my luck next time by ordering from them again. ill go elsewhere....

I wonder if these morons realize a companys return policy is every bit important as their sales? As a Parts Mgr, I've been to a dozen parts seminars that stress this point. My parts dept. has a no hassle return policy that has made us many new customers and kept my old ones happy. All of my counter people are under the instructions to take things back no questions asked within what we call "the dumbass limit" (an in house term) that means...no we won't take back a fuel pump dripping gas or something that's been obviously installed and abused. If someone brings a part back in re-sellable condition with an invoice they get their full refund. Somebody should tell these idiots there is such a thing as the internet and their reputation is being run thru the mud.

That seems to be common with online orders.

The online operation is separate from the actual facility, -I always order by telephone, no matter what place I'm ordering from. That way I know the automation doesn't get ahead or behind the inventory.

Well they called me this afternoon and admitted the mixup. Still they had the nerve to imply I may have ordered it twice (yeah, right). Will see what they plan to do next since I already called my bank. It's really too bad since they have a decent selection parts and the prices are reasonable.

So I get home from work tonight and sure enough there's a box from RPMOutlet. Never even received confirmation that my order had been received. No tracking #, nothing. Boy are they going to be surprised when they see I disputed the charges! Shoes on the other foot now. For my trouble think I'll wait awhile before I call my bank back.
