I am planning on switching from my E-303 to a Comp XE282HR-12 cam and was wondering if anyone was running a 347 with Edelbrock Aluminum 2.02 Int. and 1.6 Exh. heads with this cam and what if any problems did they have with it? My block deck height is stock and I am running forged SRP pistons with the -5.0cc valve reliefs.

Thanx

That's a healthy cam, I'm familiar with it. With those SRP pistons, you shouldn't have a problem with it or the 2.02's. I'm guessing it's going into your 84 Capri? That's great because an EEC computer would have to be tuned to be able to use it but in your case you don't have that to worry about.

My main concern is the piston to valve clearance. I don't want to buy the cam and find out that the valves are not clearing the pistons properly and then be stuck with a $300 cam I can't use.

Thanx again for your help,
Robert

You could contact SRP and see what their valve reliefs will accomodate, both valve and valve lift wise to be sure. You can contact their online tech support.
