So you all know I did my HCI swap and I was running really lean with the fuel pressure turned all the way up. I was brainstorming before I get the injectors cleaned and came to the idea that I was getting too much air, not not enough fuel. So I said what the hell, put the stock MAF on and see what happens...

So I did and it runs a lot better and smoother. A little more power too. I have the 30#'ers and the 76mm. According to C&L I need the purple 090 sampling tube, is this it? (see picture)

I have a buddy that said DON'T DRIVE WITH THE STOCK MAF!!!!

Am I doing harm to the car running it like this?

Yup, that's the sampling tube.
The stock meter is meant for the stock 19 pound injectors, not the 30's. The computer will be getting input that causes it to think it has 19 pounders so the engine may not run like it should. It's probably running smoother because of the reduced airflow because your thinking is right, it's running lean due to the increased air from the bigger meter.
