What is the best way to remove rust? Soda blasting, sand blasting, wire wheel, chemical, drive till it falls off?

What works the best?

All of the above. Depends on the area of where you are and how big and bad the rusted area is. I am partial to the wire wheel though. I have heard stories of people having media falling out of their car for years after blasting.
Blasting is best but you never get all of it out of the car.It depends a lot on how big of a spot it is and is it rusted through or not.Try sanding first then a wire brush you have to dig tell you hit metal then do the normal body work.If there is rust holes or thin metal replace it.

I purchased a sand blaster from Summit Racing the other day and it made quick clean up of my spindles. I was using a wire brush and wheel, sand paper of various grits, and a grinding wheel. What would take me half an hour to do now takes me like 5 minutes. If you are in a financial bind, stick with the way that's most affordable to remove the rust. I used sand paper and wire until I got the money together and did my research on what would take care of my needs right now.

If you asking for the best way period.......media blasting. If you know what you are doing, the rust and/or filler material will go bye bye very nicely!!

I was always told to NEVER use a traditional sand blaster on sheet metal, it can put pock marks and waves into it because of the heat generated by friction. Keep that in mind. If you're getting it done by a professional they use walnut shells. At least they do in my area.
