I have the comp stage 2 cams and was wanting to upgrade. I am not quite happy with the stage 2 i would like more top end power and a choppier idle. I still have stock 3.55 gears and my car is a daily driver i was thinking about the new ford hot rod cams or comp stage 4 cams i would like a cam with good mid to top end power. What would be the best cam for my setup and prefrence ?

Yes which would be best with the stock gears? I still want some bottom end.

If you want to keep the bottom end you have now, don't go bigger in duration. You may pick up the torque and horsepower with a larger cam, but it will raise the rpm where the peak occurs.

I can stand to lose a little bottom end as long as i can gain top end.

I would expect to see 5 RWHP from that upgrade.
That is worth it, isn't it?

well no not really. The cost would seem very high for a minimal gain.

not sure i have heard of many people running them successfully. They may have a bad wrap but I have seen people run them good.

But how long will that power last before you blow your engine. I've heard sound clips of their cams... Sounds like a ticking time bomb. :happyhapp

Are the comp stage 4 and crane stage 3 and 4 to much for stock 3.55 gears

Everything that I have read says that gears (3.73 or 4.10) are reccomended with most of the cams stage 3 or better the only ones I would entertain leaving the 3.55's in for would be the COMP NSR cams.

I know it says recommended but I'm not convinced that 3.55s would be that bad.
