Component: STRUCTURE:BODY:HOOD:HINGE AND ATTACHMENTS
Potential Number Of Units Affected : 339
Summary:
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE BOLTS USED TO FASTEN THE HOOD LATCH AND HINGES TO THE FIBERGLAS BODY OF THE HOOD CAN BECOME LOOSE.
Consequence:
THE HOOD MAY BECOME LOOSE AND/OR SEPARATE FROM ITS LATCH AND/OR HINGE(S) WHILE DRIVING, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE HOOD BOLTS. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING SEPTEMBER 2005. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT SALEEN AT 1-949-597-4900.

Oh man you scared the poop out of me!!!

I just spent about 5 hours installing the Saleen HIDs and the first thing I see when I get on the computer tonight is "Saleen recall" and just about dumped a load in my shorts.

While I am relieved this is not for my items thanks all the same for posting it - I am sure it will be helpful info for someone.

Bummer!

If you have a SC Saleen car please have this fixed ASAP and drive slow to the dealer!

Know a guy who's hood came off on the strip (~140 MPH), through the windshield and glass everywhere, face, eyes, etc! NOT COOL!

Yeah I've seen that happen once. It makes a he!! of a mess.

Fun Ford Weekend enforces 13.99. Don't forget a driveshaft safety loop for 12.99
