I read in another thread about a short throw shifter block. I have an '06 automatic V6. Can someone please explain to me what it is and how it works? Thanks.

I am not sure of the details except this I know for sure - you neither need nor can use one. No worries - I have an auto also, so I'm out too.

As far as I understand, it basically shortens (as the name implies) the movement needed to make shifts helping to reduce time between gears - very helpful when going for the gusto! :happyhapp

It is an "extention" that bolts to the bottom of the shift rod. You lengthen the rod on the bottom end where the shifter bolts to the linkage, which in turn changes the pivot point, thus causing a shorter shift.

They work great!
