Scrolling MP3 Song Names on Radio?

2088 Views 7 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  drbino
I just picked up my 2005 Mustang GT yesterday :D and I noticed that when I am listening to an MP3 on the CD player, the display shows the first 12 characters of the song name, and if I press the "Text" button it will display the next 12 characters. Is there any way to get the radio to scroll the name across the screen like most MP3 players do?

Thanks for your help.

I don't know about scrolling, but the RDS menu is accessed by pressing the menu button for few seconds. I just figured that out few days ago when playing around with the radio in traffic lights.. :) I guess that is also told in the manual, but.. ;)
Nope. No scroll function. You might want to use the search function to find the threads here covering the shaker and mp3. :)

No scroll feature. But you can display the song (SO) artist (AR) or albumn (AL) field in the MP3 tag. To lock in the selected field just toggle over to it and hold in the the text button for a few seconds and it will blink - then the selected field will be displayed on each MP3. It's kind of a disappointment that it doesn't scroll - even the cheapest head units offer that feature. Good luck with your new car. In spite of it's short commings the radio is not that bad.
I've got a shaker 500. How do you turn on the RDS feature??

Thanks
Steve

Go out to your car. Unlock the drivers door. Get in. Lean over and open the glove box. Pull out the owners manual. Go to index and look up Radio. Locate pages in the manual and ... READ. :scream: Simple as that. :thumbsup

I think I understand his confusion. Apparently, the 500 does not support RDS or CD text- at least there is no mention in the owner's manual about those features under the Shaker 500. I thought the only difference in the 1000 and 500 was the amp and trunk woofers, but the decks have different functionality too it would seem.
