SCT X3 Tuner Has Me MAD AS HECK, HELP!

OK so after having My JLT CAI SCT X3 Tuner Combo for over a year now I finally decided to try and put a New Tune on it. I Up-Loaded the SCT Device Up-Dater and saved it to My Desk-Top, now I tried to download the 93 Race Tune that I got on July 1st, even though it is a older version and Im still waiting for the Newer Up-Dated Version I could'nt wait any longer.
Now I do have an older DELL Computer with Windows and Dial-Up, but I asked the people at AM if this would be a problem and they said no, so I went for it.
I plugged in the SCT Tuner to My USB port and all I get is (Firmware Not Found) the SCT Device Up-Dater Software requires the following items to be installed on your computer (Microsoft .NET Frameware 3.5) I tried to download it and I get an ERROR that it wont download.
I did it all right and tried to do it again and all I get is the ERROR and that's it. So much for putting Tunes on My Tuner and trying out the Tunes I just bought. What can I do to get this Tuner to do what I have to do to put Tunes on it?????
I did do and go to the SCT Website and do all I had to with saving the SCT Up-Dater Software to My Computer and I also saved the Up-dates of the Tuner to My desk-top too, but I cant do anymore.
At least when I plugged in the SCT Tuner back into My Stang I got to put back on the 93 ALL OUT Tune in it.
Chris Rose, Chris Young, if you guy's can HELP me out I'd be Happy as Hell:gringreen All I want to do is put on the 93 Race Tune from BAMA on it.
PLEASE HELP:bigthumbsup If I have to send this Dang Tuner back to AM and have you Guy's do it and Pay for it I will:bigthumbsup All I want is My 93 ALL OUT TUNE, My 93 Emission Tune and the 93 Race Tune from BAMA on it and I'll never need anything else added to it again.
Oh, and My Tuner has only been used mabey 6 times to download tunes to my Stang, and has always been stored inside in My Cedar Chest away from any Moisture and in a Cool Dry Place. Tonight when I used it to Download the Factory Stock Tune back on it befor I tried to Up-Load Tunes to it the (LED Screen) went Blank a few times while downloading the tune, and also it was really hard to see when I re-downloaded the 93 ALL OUT Tune back into My Stang, the lettering was faint, what is this thing going bad after using it just a few times?.........I cant win and Im not happy.
If anyone has any advice or help I'd greatly appreciate it:bigthumbsup

If you're available from 9AM-5:30PM EST, I can have the Bama guys take remote access of your computer and install the drivers and software for you, and show you how to load custom tunes. Would that interest you?

The same exact thing happened to me the first time, but I somehow figured it out. Damn, what did I do? I cannot remember sorry.

You can try deleting the microsoft software and re-downloading it. But I would just call bama give them my computer and stand back. lol

Yep that's just what Im gonna do:bigthumbsup as soon as the Ol Bones in My Computer get warmed up. Only worked a few Hours this Morning as it's going to be HOT Today, probably Break a Record. It's suppos-to get up to 95 to a 105 away from the Lake, this is extremely Rare for it to get this Hot in Northern Chautauqua Co.
Going out to re-download the Factory Tune in the Tuner then give Chris a call, I'll Post back when all is well:winks

I told you not mess with these things, now go to your room :gringreen:gringreen
Give the Bama guys a call any time during business hours and just let them know that you need them to remote connect and take care of it for you - they'll get it done!

We appreciate your patience and your awesome feedback all over these forums.

Thanks again!!

ha, thats actually where the car is sitting :gringreen
ugh! remote on dial up.. lol be prepared for a long wait.

How did you try to update the .net framework? did you just go to microsoft and try to download it? You made need the previous versions of .net for it to work as well as the current service pack for your os. If you're running xp that would be sp3 vista sp2. I assume you're not running windows 7 from the given age and dial up. Make sure windows is up to date. You can do that by going to your tool bar, "tools" on i.e. 7 or "safety" on i.e. 8 or 9. then windows updates. Select custom update, and check the optional updates for the .net frameworks.

Well My Day did'nt go so well....I called BAMA and AM and got a Tuner to help me out getting My Tuner and Tunes as one. In a reply above I stated that last night when I went to return the Stang to Stock so I could try and do the Tunes Up-Load My Tuner's LED Screen started to ack up during the up-load process, the Screen would fade in and out and sometimes go blank for a mniute or so, then I could read it again and proceed with the download.
A few times I had to wait so I knew wich button to push on the Tuner because I could'nt read the screen, I got worried that mabey the screen would stay blank then I'd be screwed on the download as I would'nt know what to do next. I finished the download, try doing the Tune switch to my tuner myself, would'nt work, called BAMA Today and set up for them to take control of My Computer so they could help me and do there thing.
While on the phone with the BAMA Tuner I mentioned what My Tuner was doing and he said mabey we should'nt try to do the Tune Up-Load as the Tuner might puke and to call SCT and tell them about it, called SCT.........
Now I have only had My Tuner for about 14 Months and only used it to do Tune Up-Dates mabey a half a dozen times. it's always been stored in a cool dry place.
The Guy at SCT asked for the Serial Number off it and asked what's up with it, I told him about the LED Screen getting hard to read and going blank sometimes. He said that Heat will do it and that it was 2 Months past Warranty and that they'd fix it for $65, got em down to $35:bigthumbsup anyway It's been the HOTTEST here in Years, it was probably 90 out last night and near 100 today when I used the Tuner, was that the reason for the Tuner ackting up I asked? he said mabey but he was'nt sure.
I also asked him if I could put My Stang back on the 93 ALL OUT Tune befor I sent it in because I just could'nt drive My Stang on it's Stock Tune, I'd be Embarrased:gringreen He said sure, went out to re-download the Tune and have the Tuner ready to send to SCT.
While doing the Download the Tuner was Fine, I could read everything through the up-load process, the LED Screen was fine. But I also had the Tuner in the House after it gave me Crap and put it by the AC. So now Im wondering if it was just Hot from the Heat and the AC helped it, or it had a slight amount of Humidity in it from the Heat. Should I still send it to SCT and have them Fix it, what's your thought's on this. I will try it again a few more times befor I make My Final Decesion.
So No New 93 Race Tune to try out and a possible Broken Tuner, I knew it would happen to me, remember what I said about that in a past thread I Posted:gringreen Also has anyone ever had what happened to My Tuner happen to there's? did you have SCT Fix it? did it work and stay working?
Decided just to Enjoy Life Today and spend it with My Wife at My Friends Pool and float around drinking Labbatt's Blue Lights, will deal with the Tuner tomorrow,,,,,,Man it's Hot out!
