my car's seat belt light wont go out and neither will the warning chimes
I AM wearing my seat belt but my car wont acknowledge it.

What can i do to make this stop as it is VERY annoying an i have a 300 mile trip this weekend, can i unplug the wires, permanently wire something together , pull a fuse?

I am losing my mind

:frustrated: The owners manual procedure wont work because the car cant tell when the belt is in or not, i have tried :frustrated:

It will be necessary to determine which switch isn't working or if this is an electronics problem.

Let's start with the driver's seat belt switch. Connector C302 is under the seat. Open the connector and measure the resistance from the BN/LB wire towards the seat and a KNOWN good ground. Should be low (post). Now buckle the driver's seat belt. The resistance should go high (OPEN). If not, the switch is bad.

One possibility is a drink spill.

thanks, when i get time i will do that, for the time being i just unplugged the connector
