That's odd. You may have a leak that's causing fuel pressure to be less than optimal, or it could be unrelated.

it goes off by itself once the problem stops.

How many miles are on the car?
service engine

I have 30,000 miles on my car, and when i changed the fuel filter i pulled the fuse to my fuel pump to drain the lines so it would not have any pressure and when i put the fuse back in it had the service engine light soon on.

Try disconnecting the battery for 5 mins, reconnecting it, and see what happens.

If that doesn't fix it, you might shoot mustangtk a PM.
You can also go by autozone and they will come out and stick in the code reader and tell you exactly what the code is. Also if the light comes on immediatly after having the battery disconnected then disconnect the battery for a longer time. Some of my buddies in the Super Duty forum say it takes longer to clear out the codes. Someone also said to turn the headlight switch on to drain the codes(while the battery is disconnected). Don't know it that's true or not.

Good Luck,
Rob
