Hey guys.

I picked up a 1995 3.8L vs about a week ago. Took it to the strip this weekend to see what it could do. I used to have a 91 fox body 5.0. And was very iffy about a v6 but I'll try anything once. Anyways its all stock except the headers. I ran from mid 17s and my final time was 17 even. How can I improve this time? With out dropping in a new motor. Any certain parts I should look into first. Any good sites for ordering with good prices as well? Every little bit helps. Thanks!

Welcome! There's a bunch of different angles that you can take here but it's going to be a combination of both engine mods as well as suspension mods that will help the most!

A Cold Air Intake and Catback Exhaust would help your motor breathe better in order to get you down the track faster but if you're not getting of the line fast enough there's no point! Springs, Control Arm Kit , and Subframe Connectors would be something I would look into so you can get the power to the ground as best as possible.

Let me know if you have any questions and I'm here to help!

I'll look into those for sure. Any specific brand work better then the others? Also what's your feeling on wider tires?
Good question! We don't pick brands here arbitrarily and the reason that I've selected the parts in my previous post is due to the fact that I've had them on my own personal Mustangs in one way or another.

The Cold Air Intake and exhaust I had on my '96 V6 what feels like some time ago and the Control Arm Kit as well as the Subframe Connectors we're on my 2001 Bullitt. I'm in no way commission based here and I wouldn't recommend a big brand name part if I thought it was going to get you the same performance as one that is going to be that much easier on your wallet!

Regarding the tires-Bigger is definitely going to be better but in some instances it can actually hurt the performance of the car. If you were to theoretically put a drag radial on and the car didn't have the power to back it up it would bog getting off the line. Depending on what your stock tire size is right now (I can help find the right fit) or you could get a set of rear wheels and tires that are larger.

Hope this helps!

I was looking to stay cheap anyhow not so much that I was getting plastic pieces Haha. But I wanted to run 245/45/17 on just the rears
I know how you mean! If you're to locate any of the parts that I mentioned above elsewhere for less let me know or shoot us a call and we'll have a price match set up! I would take a look at your tire size right now just to make sure it's a good to go (It should be!) because a tire that's too big would be like you or me sticking our feet in one of Shaq's shoes!

Automatic?

Well a set of gears should wake it up but don't expect to set the world on fire with that motor, sorry.
