Shaker Help

Ok guys, I've searched the threads and can't find a reply that I know I read regarding the Shaker system. I have an 05 GT -- actually #950 of the built 05s -- and occasionally have a "bad disc" error, but not often. My question regards pushing a set of buttons. I know how to do the self-test, but someone mentioned how to access and turn on the screen to list artist and/or song titles. I don't think I dreamed this, but my searches have proven futile. Can someone help me to get that info?
Also -- the popping noise happens maybe 1 or 2 times a week and only when turning really slow on the left side -- almost too minor to mention except I've read what other's have said about it. Our GT was delivered to the dealer as a "not for sale" unit, but he did finally give in and make a sale. It was suppose to be a "promo" unit -- It's black with dark charcoal interior and red seats/door panels. It is loaded out with all the goodies, so I guess it was to show what the new 'Stangs had -- with a 5 speed.
Anyways -- I digress -- any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Read the TSB thread (it is a sticky at the top) you will find out more than you wanted to know! You have a lot of dealer work to schedule I guess...(given your build date).
Didn't mean to convey the 'Stang was problematic. Actually being among the 1st 1000 built and sent out to promote the series @ dealship may be a good thing. The bad disc error was on a disc that plays well in my Ranger, but has some "wear" on the disc.
The popping is so minor -- and the service mgr. said they could loosen the front suspension system (already did it on 3 others), then retighten and the problem goes away.
The Shaker has been ok -- no real probs except the disc error as a rarity. My question is someone mentioned in the forums about setting the Shaker so the screen reads artist/song title like my XM receiver unit does. I did a search but did not find anything but the self-test method (buttons 3&9). If anyone remembers specifically that info, please guide me to the location. Since the black GT has been relatively trouble free, I'm just trying to access some of the "extras" like the global windows (I like them) and some others.
Thanks

Hold down the menu button for a few seconds and your screen will say RDS off press seek right and it will turn RDS on. Press the menu button a few more times and it will give you more options, use seek to scroll through them. The way to make it show the name is to turn RDS on, then go to SHOW and select NAME.

Hope that helps and by the way What are these global windows that you are talking about?
On my shacker1000 it shows the song and everything,,,Didnot have to change anything....JohnnyT

Thank you -- thank you -- thank you!!!
That's exactly what I was trying to find. My XM receiver unit shows channel, artist, and song -- and I knew someone had discussed how to get the shaker to do the same. I really appreciate the help.
Global Windows? If you have the active anti-theft system, an option as part of it was to allow you to use the remote to open the windows. Click the remote to unlock, then hold down and the windows go down. My wife's Maxima does this & I think it's really great. If the 05 'Stang is newer as a build (I think March??) Ford deactivated the feature as a "safety issue". If you have one of the older builds, & the windows don't function this way, the service dept. can access the computer and "enable global windows" to make them work.
Hope this helps you as much as your response helped me. Now I just gotta get out of this office into the GT and try to set it up. Thanks again.

That's great -- mine didn't & I read on the forum what to do -- but didn't print out or make a note of where -- searched?? -- well, I guess I didn't ask the right question in the search:sterb:.
I'm glad yours worked from day one. Have you had any of the problems that others have mentioned with the Shaker units? I guess having a bad disc error on just one disc so far is good news compared to what others have experienced. Hope yours continues to do well.
