My car was built on 4/29/11 and sent to Gainsville,FL for the boat ride to Puerto Rico.
The car was stuck there for about 3 weeks, it is now booked to leave on Friday's vessel.
From my investigations I found this (Manager is a friend):

Ford Export Ops employee #1 (last week):

Is there a problem with this unit? If not, can we get booked to the next vessel?

Ford Export Ops employee #2 (last week):

Yes, it is on stop ship # 3006 from the plant and no it can not be booked.

Ford Export Ops employee #2 (8 days later ...) :

This one came off hold yesterday, it is completed at the port and I am working on getting it booked to this weeks barge sailing Friday 6/10.

Any guess ?? ... I'm confused and probably a little freaked .......
Were they 'fixing' something or 'changing' something at the port .. ???

I'm trying to calm my nerves, thinking everyhting will be OK with the car ... Now I'm thinking that you answers might make it worse ....:ahhhhh:ahhhhh

probably had to do some export mods
could be any thing from differant computer to differant lights
must make it meet any laws for the country it is going to
likely there is a company in Gville that did the work
There is no port there, Jacksonville, the nearest port is about 70 miles away
