I want to purchase parts for my Mustang. I contacted American Muscle and they ship to Canada but they only use UPS. UPS wants an additional $159.00 shipping, taxes and brokerage to ship $300 worth of merchandise. UPS brokerage is well known to have expensive brokerage fees.
Is there any Ford Parts Companies that use FED Ex or US Postal to ship to Canada?
Thanks

Depending on what you are getting, it's usually cheaper to pay the S&H than to buy locally since Canadians love to pay more for everything. That said, i should have shopped around to see if I could have gotten my ABs somewhere with lower shipping rates.

Depending how close you are to the border, I find its way cheaper to ship to a UPS store in the USA, pick up the parts and pay the tax at Customs. The only exception would be Steeda parts which are about same price in Canada

There's always steeda.ca and themustangshop.ca. Their prices are competitive with American sellers, which amazed and delighted me. Hopefully they have what you are looking for.

Unfortunately I can't do much about the shipping Fee's to Canada. Those are pre set by UPS and coverage everything from our location to your front step!

However I can do my best to discount the order for you to make up for some of the shipping. Shoot me an email and I'll see what I can do for you!

You should also look at Tdot Performance. They have wicked prices and free shipping in Canada. For wheels and tires, they aren't as cheap as other places...but for performance mods, they have been the cheapest.

USPS is the most economical way to send goods from the US to Canada as they don't rape you on duty and fees. UPS is the absolute worst and use brokerage fees to make additional profit and if a vendor only uses UPS you are going to get raped when the goods show up at your door. No way around that.

I'm fortunate that my father owns property in Montana and I get all my good shipped to his address then he brings them across the border and ususlly they don't even charge him GST at the border as he crosses so much they just let him through. Saves a lot of money especially since a lot of US vendors ship free in the US.

For big items like tires, i have stuff shipped to a shipping depot across the border, and usually, i don't get charged even tax driving em across.
Now on Steeda.ca, just bought a slew of parts and last month, and this month, it's free shipping....can you believe free shipping from a vendor in Canada!?!?!

UPS is the biggest rapist of em all...

AM...you guys need to open a warehouse up in Canada so things can be shipped for free to us too! :)

+1

AM, you guys would be double awesome if you made different shipping arrangements for shipping to Canada. I paid and extra $120 for my ABs. :(

I'm with you guy's. I would have bought more stuff from AM if the shipping wouldn't killed the deal.

A warehouse in canada would be great or more friendly shipping rates.

I think Am lost some sales because of that. That's the case with me.

I'm lucky enough to live within 40 minutes of the border. I use one of two shipping methods; one is the item gets shipped to the UPS Depot where they'll hold it for up to 5 days. This is a free service but only works for UPS deliveries.

The other method is using CBIUSA.com . There they will hold items indefinitely, give you a US "residential" (not P.O. Box) address you can send mail to. All for a nominal $6 fee. That way you can ship stuff from multiple vendors to one spot (ie tires from TireRack via UPS, stuff from Amazon using Fedex, etc. etc.) and pick it all up in one shot when they all get there. You can even take advantage of Amazon's $5 magazine subscriptions if you go over once a month.

The other benefit is that you can take advantage of cheap gas prices while you're there; I save about $30 filling up my truck offsetting the price of the trip.

Of course, you'll have to pay tax at the border; but then again you pay less tax because you're taxed on goods that cost less than if you bought it in Canada ... :bigthumbsup

Good solution, but if you don't live near the border, you are screwed. I know that the market is bigger in the us, but canada dealers should offer free shipping. Or Am should lower the fees or deal with another carrier.

I buy 90% of my stuff in Canada because duty and shipping rates are really too high.

AM would do more sales if they would have better rates or better a warehouse in Canada.

Great comments, thanks. AM has some great prices, unfortunetly with their UPS shipping the Brokerage Fees kill the deal.
No Brokerage fees when shipping with US Post and low fees when shipping with Fed Ex.
Hard to understand why AM wouldn't simply have arternative shipping methods to promote more business.
I ordered $120 floor matts for my Audi and my fees from UPS were over $100. Unbelievable rip off.
I see that the Mustang Shop in Calgary carries many products at competative prices.
Thanks to those that commented.

Heavy D is bang on! UPS are ripoff meisters--I learned a very expensive lesson with their BS brokerage fees. USPS is indeed the cheapest way to ship to Canada, however, many US Vendors like AM won't use alternative methods to ship. I sometimes have articles shipped to an outlet in Sweetgrass. MT and then go down and pick them up. There is no duty on parts made in the US or Mexico and the prices are usually much better. I should note too that CJPonyparts often has a two day free shipping to Canada promotion--I have purchased from them and also had great service.
If I were you I would take advantage of the companies on this forum who are willing to help you out by using a cheaper shipper (or USPS). Feel free to PM me and I will expand further on my experiences.

It's worth mentionning that Steeda canada paid last month shipping and this month as well. But a good bunch of my parts there.

If AM would lower their shipping and duties or would installed a warehouse in Canada it would be great.

Didn't find good parts supplier in Canada unfortunetly. I have found Steeda and the mustang shop.

Where do you buy your parts from vendors in Canada?

I am looking to purchase FR GT500 style Axle Back Exhaust. As the vehicle is so new I have not used any Ford parts suppliers since I sold my F350. Getting quoted $159 dollars via UPS to ship a it from AM for $309 part seems a just a little excessive.
