I just finished installing my new shock tower and I put it in like it was..with spot welds. But I have seen some who suggest also bead welding it in......what are the thoughts on this, does it really stiffen up the car any? It would make the car not look stock for anyone who knows that they were spot welded from the factory.
Also does adding a montycarlo bar make any real difference????

Bead welding would give added support along the seam, that would prevent any slight movement between those panels, so I would say -yes it does stiffen it up.
The Monte Carlo bars assist in preventing unwanted shock tower movement by triangulating the shock towers and the firewall which makes for a much stronger front end.
