I have a 02 Mustang GT with super 44 flowmasters, I just installed a Pypes O/R x-pipe and now when I start the car and drive it i smell exhaust fumes really bad, is that from removing the converters or because I need to Tune the car. The car sounds mean as hell, just cant stand the smell I would appreciate any help, also I am new here and this is my first post. THANKS

Could be a small exhaust leak or it's burning the stuff off that they put on the pipes, or like you said, due to removing the cats.

Probably an exhaust leak. I don't think removing the cats would make you smell exhaust in the cabin.

yeah i noticed a bit of a stronger smell but it is by no means unbearable. smells like a go cart or a lawn mower. check all your seals for exhaust leaks.

Without cats you'll definitely have more of an unburnt gas smell. Check everything over for any exhaust leaks, and a tune may help if it's running rich, but it will always have a more potent smell than with cats.

its normal after i installed my offroad x, at houston mustang performance.
i would smell exhaust when i was just parked..
it would go away when i would drive,
i kinda liked it haha, im like dammm im smelling my moneyyy hahahaha:hihi:

i have long tube headers off road x flomaster40s and i smell the same thing not that bad but u can notice it.nice to know its normal

Hey Silver, how are you getting away with a cat-less exhaust system? Don't you have to do emissions testing in St. Johns?

when u buy a car u have to have to get it inspected then u have to do nothing for as long as u own it.

I have LT Headers, Cat-less Prochamber and a Mac Cat-Back System and I can smell the exhaust as well (if windows down at a stop light)!

I have had this car for over 4 years. I bought it the way it is for the most part. It only had 12,000miles on it when I got it.....and it had this exhaust odor from day one (I believe it is normal without cats)! It's very faint though!!!
