p.s if you have power mirrors make sure to unplug the cable before yanking it out.

You might try a small flathead screwdriver to initially help to pry the cover off, but basically just get a firm grip on it and pull straight out and away from the door. There will be 2 screws (maybe 3, it's been a while) that hold the plastic speaker housing to the door; undo those and from there you should be able to see what you need in order to remove the mirror (per thread title, sounds like what you're trying to do).
