Just called a reputable glass company and asked how much to put in the SHR louvers. They told me over $400. Does that sound right. Wow that sounds expensive to me.

If its that much $$$ I might have to re-think my desire for those louvers.
No that is just to replace. I wonder if the Ford dealer would do it cheaper? I may have to rethink that as well. Not only can I not afford that I don't think I want to. Guess it is back to stick ons.
I don't think anyone on here paid near that much. I'm sure some will chime in.
Yeah, I agree with Stlwagon. I've not heard of anyone else paying that much. If it were, they wouldn't be nearly as popular.
Way to much !!!!. Body shop that painted mine did it for 150.00 painted and installed. Shop around.

Took us nearly 6 months - we were offered, so graciously, by my brothers friend from the grabber site to do the install for free... but we paid $321, so we could go back to the company if they leaked or had a problem - I explained on the other thread about that...

Other glass companies wanted to bust out the window and charge us $65 a side, an autobody place wanted $600+ to install them, another guy I ran from couldn't give me a quote but "could do the job"... I didn't want glass all over the place and don't trust just anyone.... honestly, it was a %#@!& finding someone who WOULD install them... then I was sick over the install, worrying....

Wash it worth it? Absolutely!! My car doesn't look like Princess Leia... :D :hihi:

Now that's just plain creepy. :nogrinner
$400 is way too much. Save the money and do it your self. I installed mine and it was easy, just follow the directions and you can't screw anything up.
When you order the louvers, order them pre-painted. You'll spend about the same to have someone else do them. The first place (Bump Doc) screwed mine up and painted the wrong side. The they had to paint the wrong side black and the outside silver. They did a crappy job them, the lines were not straight. Took them to a real paint shop and they came out a lot better.
Make sure you order the window kit to remove your window, 3M adhesive and the 3M One-Step Adhesion promoter.

Once you have the louver in place, tape it in place also to keep it from sliding down. It doesn't take longer for the adhesive to dry. You'll want to get some rubber gloves, the adhesive is hard to get off.
Mask off more of the car like your going to paint it to keep the adhesive off your paint. If you get any adhesive on your paint, just use car wax to get it off before it dries (don't wait).
You will need a 2nd person to help you when you get ready to cut the window out.
I'll PM you my cell number and if you have questions you can call me.

I'm thinking I'm going to stay stock at least for now. I do like them the best of all I have seen.

Took my guy at a glass replacement center all of 1 hour and 20 minutes to do both sides so YES $400 is way out of line. I would think $100-$150 for install is plenty fair and thats NOT breaking the glass out, thats just insane!! After having watched them do it (and they took their sweet time because i was watching) i feel very coinfident that i couldve done it myself for sure. The old saying you get what you pay for but in this case there really is not anything to it. I just felt comfortable having a glass replacement shop do it so I would be sure of no leaks. Go ahead and get them, they are the best looking louver around! Brent

I would say whatever you are comfortable with but 400 is out of line to me. I had quotes form 110 to 250 to do mine. Went with the 110 but there were some other issues with the paint on the driver side (there is a thread and Ford is fixing). Doing it again I would probably have spent the 250 but even with the issues that I have had I would do this again. They look great (haven't been able to post pics yet but will this weekend.)
