Some little findings after a month of ownership.

So, it has been over a month that I owned this car. Everyday I enjoy it more and more but using it more I find little things that Ford did or did not do that just annoy me and wish they completed it.

1. My Color. Granted I never use it. I just set it and forget it, but at night is it kinda annoying that the radio and center console lights are green and my gages are not. Could they of extended the My Color to that portion also?

2. Automatic door locks. Every car I owned since 1990 (cheap or not) have had door locks that "lock" after 10 mph or so. Whats up? It is on the automatics.

3. Ebrake. The car has a leather (fake or not, I am not sure) shifter boot but not for the EBrake. Whats up. Just finish it off and put one on there.

4. Motion sensor. Now I have a convertible and rarely put the top up, especially if I am just running into a store real quick. Why cant the motion detector work with the top down. It would make sense thats when you need it the most.

5. Trunk release. C'mon.

6. One touch down for front window and not back window?

I plan on keeping this car forever so I will be working on fixing some of these issues but other than that I cannot find any other flaws in the car. I love the way it drives, looks and the power is sweet with so much more potential.

All good points. If you have the interior upgrade with the My Color you should have automatic locks. They lock at 3 mph and unlock when you turn off the car.

OK here's what you do. Every day this week after you have finished enjoying your vert, scratch one of your wishes off the list. By Saturday you will be finished erasing your list. That will leave you Sunday to give thanks that you have a Mustang. :kooky:

Who me? Never......
Here are my findings after 6 months of ownership:

WOW!!!
COOOOLLLL!!!
SWEEEEEETTTTT!!!
AWESOME!

This from a former 'Vette owner...

Corvette? What Corvette?

If your motion sensor isn't working with the top down maybe you should have that looked at. I've set mine off via the motion sensors off several times reaching in to grab my purse or something after the alarm has set. Are they not suppose to be active w/ the top down? And my doors auto lock after I put it in gear but I'm not sure which option that came with... or maybe because its an auto not manual?
My ATT alarm motion sensor arms after 5-10 seconds. I've tried it with the windows 1/4 and 2/3 down and it works well. Maybe the verts are different. Also, my doors lock at around 5mph. At least the door unlocks when I pull on the handle. With my Brothers TransAm, you had to hit the "unlock" button before you pulled the lever. I can't tell you how many times I tried to jump-out after parking, only to slam into a door which wouldn't move. Stupid system.

You can adjust the mycolor to green so that everything matches….

The only stupid complaint I have is with the underseat access. I seem to drop a lot of stuff (coins, keys, receipts, etc) down into the crack between the seat and center armrest (ie. By the seatbelt latch). That area is a "no-mans-land" that's a ***** to retrieve stuff from. I scrape the heck out of my hands trying to get stuff that falls down there (I have power seats, btw). Whether I try from the top, front, back it's the same story … scraped hands.

Oh yeah, no trunk release (unless you're *in* the trunk) is dumb.

I just use the little blue button on the fob. :winks
Another thing that the Mustang has is that it is attainable by the average person.
My doors do not lock, does everybody else's? Is this something I have to set?
My vert has NO alarm (I'd rather put in aftermarket), interior upgrade withoug Mycolor and is a manual. My doors also do not lock automatically; but the way I understand it is this is an option (I just don't have it). Trunk...yeah found that out the hard way (keys in trunk...had to have son run out the other keys). Rear window...well if you auto both fronts down first and then hold the rear they all come down at the same time (and quickly compared to past fords). Ebrake...couldn't care less. I do wish the car had windows that would automatically roll down when you unlock them with the fob.
combo pad on door

I had the dealership put a combo pad on the drivers door so I don't have to worry about locking myself out and I can open the trunk without using the fob. Kinda sticks out a little but it's a convience I can't do without. I have one on my expedition and I never take my key out of the ignition, ( we live in the country so if someone wants it bad enough they can have it!)
Well I'm at about two months so here goes my observations.....

1. My Color: I think getting special LED's for EVERYTHING else might be kinda 'spensive for Ford to realistically do and manage, inventory-wise and demand-wise. It only bothers me a little bit when I have, like, Blue gauges and green everywhere else. I take some of the blame personally...if it bothers me enough, I could change the gauges to green and be done with it. I think it's still a cool plus, and better than not having it at all. Glass-is-half-full kinda thing I guess.

2. Automatic door locks: My wife's Explorer does that and every time it happens, I jump, thinking there's a serial killer with a hook for a hand in the backseat that's locking us in so he can slit my throat and have his way with my wonderful red-headed wife and then go 4-wheeling through the mud while our bloody dismembered torsos roll around in the back and he ruins the nice wash job I just did while he laughs uncontrollably... nosir, I don't care for 'em.

3. Ebrake: Turns out that the rubber edges are just perfect for holding an unlit cigarette or soft-drink straw that you haven't got an opportunity to deal with just yet because you're speed-shifting onto an onramp and you wanna beat that GTO that's pulling along fast in the lane that you want to squeeze into.....

4. Motion sensor. Don't have a vert, but if it discourages any hook-handed serial killers from hiding in my car at night, I'm all for it working properly. Good luck.

5. Trunk release. NO argument there!

6. I have a hardtop but wouldn't it be COOL if the little quarter-window was hinged and could pop open a little bit for some more breeze? My old '66 Fastback had functional - yes, functional - vents back there. We're not full retro yet without an equivalent!

7. This frikkin' car is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 5 speed 'Vert with the IUP and my doors don't auto-lock either. I wonder if that is only with the automatics?

I'd rather not have auto-locking doors than an automatic transmission.

MyColor rocks! Just select a color that contrasts the green. I have a 415 purple going on right now - it doesn't matter that the gauges are different in the slightest. Turning them to green is BORING.

Don't care about the e-brake boot. It works just fine the way it is.

I hear you on the trunk release. I think there was a thread here on this site that told us how to add one - run a search and you'll find it.

Didn't get the alarm so I can't tell you anything about the motion sensor. Alarms are a waste of time anyway - every time one goes off most people wish, "Ah, just steal the thing so I can have peace and quiet."

You know what gets me every time? My 2002 'Stang had "lift" exterior door handles but the new one has "pull" door handles. I have to consciously remember that every time I open the car. :eyepoppin

P.S. - Stoopy, that was funny as hell! :kooky:
Stoopy, Do not forget to check under your bed before sleep. I found one there one time.
