Use a fork, place it under the base of the needle (the round part), and gently pry it up and away from the gauge face. For reinstallation, what I did was take my car around the block to get it up to operating temperature and then simply placed them all back on pointing at the middle of their range (oil and temp). Take a picture of the fuel gauge so you know where to put it back to, and for rpm you can do the same or if you have a tuner then go into the real-time data and view engine rpm. I did this all with the engine running btw; for rpm when I tried to do it with the car off it gave a rpm reading of like 2500 at idle so I knew something was wrong, so without shutting it off I just removed the needle and put it back in it's proper place.

Yup, I just did this yesterday and I still am trying to adjust speedo but everything else is set. As for removing the needs i found the best way is two flat head screw drivers on opposite sides and provide even gentle pressure untill they pop off.
