I have a 96 cobra svt.I just purchased it with 19,000 miles. My problem is that the speedometer needle does not register the speed but the odometer is fine.Although I have noticed when I got on the highway and got up to speed with traffic the needle went in reverse it showed the faster we went it showed we were going slower,this only happens on highway speed,if I drive in the city the speedometer needle does not work at low speeds.What do you think the problem is,and how do I fix it.

Check your fuse that runs the speedometer/gauge cluster. Not sure about a stang, but this fixed the speedo problem with my F-250.
