Press on the brake and double click the traction control button. You don't have to be stopped to do this, but I guess it's safer.

I tried this yesterday and could only get sport mode to come on when the car was stopped. Couldn't get it to come on when the car was moving.

Are you sure about that?

Yup, positive. You have to keep breaking while you quickly do it, not just tapping a break.

My apologies for my ignorance on the topic ..... but what are we talking about - "sports mode" ??? I have a 2011 GT and not aware of such feature. Thank you in advance for any explanations.

The only sport mode I know of is selectable power steering for the 2012. Sport>comfort>luxury modes through the setup button by the headlight switch. Unless you are talking about traction control on/off

It's in the manual, but I assume you mean to take t/c and Advancetrac completely off, no? If so, you have to be stopped, have the clutch depressed and hold the traction control button for a good ten seconds before Advancetrac will turn off.

You don't have to be stopped to turn Sport Mode on and off, I do it all the time. You just hold the brake hard enough to turn the brake light on, double tap the traction control button and the display reads "AdvanceTrac Sport Mode" and the yellow TC light will light up. To turn it off you don't have to hold the brake, just press the TC button, the display will read "AdvanceTrac ON" and the TC light will be off.

There is a "Advancetrac Light" mode in the middle of on and off. "Advancetrac Sport Mode"

Hmm, didn't know that. The car seems like much more of a handfull with both Advancetrac and T/C off, I haven't tried the sport mode, but it seems like it would be more manageable.

Do you know all that's different about the car in sport mode? The manual is no help (just describes it as "for more spirited driving") and I've seen posts here and there, but nothing absolute.

A few things I know of is: It changes the steering feel, it allows a little bit more wheel spin and lets the car kick out a few more degrees before the AdvanceTrac system shuts down your fun.:shigrin

the Brembo cars have a less aggressive tc map Ive noticed, when I have the at/tc in default mode my car will spin a 2nd gear and get a bit sideways before the at/tc kicks in

Can't speak for everyone else, but doesn't anyone read the damn owner's manual anymore???????????????????? Or do a reasonable search, I know I have seen threads referencing "sport mode". Maybe I am just old and cranky today...

WORD (at reading the manual, not at how cranky you are)! its all in the manual. when i first get a car i put the manual in the bathroom so i can read it while i am "thinking." it is a good way to get it read...

Call me a JohnThomas... I really don't care, but you will never see this because you have better things to do...

@ the rest of the Mustang owners that have not open the manual and ask really some amazing questions
Really people... read the manual and get it first hand... this section will require less then 3 minutes to read...

Funny how those who say "read the manual" apparently didn't read this thread. I did read the manual as indicated in post #13. :shrug
