ALRIGHT

Who has cut their springs before?
what do you think?

Who says cutting springs is bad?
who has ever tried it?

For the people that say cut springs will "ride like a farm wagon"
have you ever tested it, perfect riding car... then cut the springs?

this should be an interesting thread.....
and i am the one that said after you cut the spring the car will ride like a farm wagon.....

for the record i have driven cars with cut springs the ride sucks with a capital "S"
You drove them with cut springs..

How much cut, who cut them, how did they do it?

if you do a shitter job then itll ride like ****

if you cut the front springs with a coil on front itll ride a TON better and make skinnies ride like real wheels
Get some real springs. Ive also rode and drove a car with cut springs. It stiffens the ride up and every bump you hit feels like you ride over train tracks.

anywhere from a half coil to a 1.5 coil

the owner of the cars did the cutting....
i refused to do it.....

results were the same the the cars rode like farm wagons.....

Farm Wagon = ??? define your term farm wagon..

and half a coil will not be noticeable

my car has cut springs on it, and it rides fine

bumps are harder, but so is every civic with coilovers for less $$

stiff ride, i get good traction, looks better.

never heard that...
When you cut your springs doesnt that create some sort of safety issue?
cutting springs..

opinions other than yours
Why I even posted in this thread Ill never know. Hack Jobs..........Shhhh

When I first got my Coupe it was the same way(Cut Spings). I drove it for about 2 months. Had another LX at the same time. It was set up right. H&R springs 50/50 shocks. Sat just as Low as the Coupe, handled better, Spring rate was consistant. And the big Plus was it rode 10X better. So.....My next step was trash the cut springs on the Coupe, H&R springs for it.

You bring up Civic's. I had a 2000 Si back in 2001. Koni 12 way Adj. coilovers and shocks.17' Racing Hart C5's. Car was not stiff, rode like it was stock and handled like a Go-Cart.

You by Cheap parts and you get cheap ride quality!!! You hack up a Suspension System and you get hacked up Suspension characteristics.

Anyone who cuts springs for ride quality, traction or looks. Has no clue how a Suspension system works. :nono:

And if youll notice, most of the guys in that thread are going to another(Uncut) spring. After they cut the springs. wonder why?

^^^^^^ That says all that is needed.....
I had cut springs on my 66 stang, it rode much better, however, it was mainly a concern of cost and that I was basically broke that I did it, obviously if you have the funds, just get decent replacement/upgraded springs and shocks, coilovers if you can manage it will be best...

yea, well im broke
i cant afford to drop like 300$ into springs.

Im happy with mine, 351w car and when i do like a 10 roll and mash on it at like 1800rpm itll chirp and go

standin still itll chirp and not just straight spin

Now, how many of you guys 302 cars will just spin when you mash the gas, compared to just chirp once and take the Heck off
I don't advocate it, simply get a quality set of lowering springs(Vogtland,H&R,Ford Racing, etc..) a set of CC plates and enjoy!
You go to the trouble of removing the stockers, just slap on a Good set!

Could just mean we have more power than you.....I blow mine off in first and second at will. I can also hook when I want also. Not all about just flooring all the time. Technique is the key, Lots of guys can feather the clutch and gas to help traction.
