Sputtering/missing under load

Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum stuff, but you guys seem to know what you're talking about!! I have an 88 Mustang 5.0, 5 speed. Stock motor with pulleys and exhaust. The car is a conversion from 4 banger (not done by me .. what a mess!!) It has recently started sputtering and missing under light load. Wide open throttle it runs like a champ, but normal driving is getting frustrating. I've done a general tune up as the car recently sat for a better part of a year. Any other suggestions?! I've searched through a bunch of other threads and people have talked about checking the fuel pressure, should I try this?!? Any help would be appreciated!!

Check the pressure, but also check the wiring harness, since the car was not used for a long time, water condensation problably is causing a bad connection somewhere, check all connectors and grounds.
I'll give that a try ... thanks for the tip!!
Well .... it helped a little ... but not entirely. Still have to check some of the harness, but the ground is good now. Car ran good enough for a 14.17 in the quarter on stock high mileage motor though!! I'll try more in a few days. Thanks for the help again though. Just thought I'd let you know
