I think I am finally about to pull the trigger on Steeda sport springs, pro action dampers, and a PHB. I was planning to take it in to have them installed, but I am wondering if I should take a shot at doing it myself. I have never done this kind of work before, but there are two military bases near me with auto hobby shops, which I can use as a gov't contractor.

They have tools, lifts, etc and they have a staff on hand who won;t dothe work for you, but they will answer questions. So, how hard is it? With a tech in the back to ask questions of, and maybe the online manual from steed or AM, is this something a noob coulde tackle himself? Thanks.

Also, last chance to talk me out of steeda pro action dampers and into taking Koni reds instead.

Any last comments on BMR springs instead of steeda sports? No?

How about any PHB other than the Steeda adjustable on the site?
Thanks.

It's not too difficult. Let me know and I will send you the installation instructions if you'd like to take a look at them beforehand.

Let me know if I can help you with anything. :bigthumbsup

Thanks. I decided to stop overthinking it and just pull the trigger. Ordered today. Thanks for the help.

I installed the FRPP 'P' springs last week. I recommend going up to the local auto parts store and renting a spring compressor. It'll save you time and headaches, plus most places rent them for free. The instructions I've read say you don't need a spring compressor, and they're right- but I could have saved a couple of hours and some sore muscles if I'd have just rented the tool.

Also- an impact wrench with metric sockets speeds up the job, but isn't necessary.

They have tools, lifts, etc
They might have the spring compressor, then.

i will be following that thread for sure as i plan to do the same thing next spring on my 2012 V6 with basically the same Steeda parts listed by OP. Want to do it myself as i have access to a lift for $9/hour and a master mechanic friend as well.

i have checked the Ford Shop Manual and it seems simple enough for someone who has basic mechanics knowledge and can read and use specs.
