...without spending over $500... Want even better handling. Would OEM Take-Off GT front struts ($50) and rear shocks ($50) be worthwhile ? Or is there something else to consider?

Without spending for springs/struts/shocks I would say lower control arms. I would bother wasting money on the GT takeoffs. Instead save up more for Koni's and springs, otherwise that is $100 wasted on something you will probably replace again.
koni orange for 440 and gt500 strut mounts for 110 and standard springs... IMO save up for Coil overs or koni yellows

DO NOT GET GT TAKE OFFS... they are made for the increased weight of a gt so it would be stiffer thats about it

Do you have a strut tower brace? 1st is 1st, right?
Ok, now I'm more "confuseder" than before. First, I do have a strut tower brace - I didn't notice much difference. Just added the sways which made a VERY noticeable improvement. I thought about lowering springs but the labor ($500) seemed kind of ridiculous.
Quality shocks sound appealing to me but I want handling improvement and not a stiff ride. BTW, is installation expensive for shocks?

One of your very best handling improvements will come with Koni adjustable struts and shocks...with 500 strut mounts......period......best regard Plum

Well thats a double sided sword, cause often times handling will come at a cost of ride quality, you can get it close but you have to be wary of what you put in there.

The strut tower brace is more noticable at high G turns and S turns, not general driving. It comes standard on convertibles due to lack of body stiffness due to the roof.

Lowering springs will lower your cars center and improve overall handling. You can do them without the shock and strut upgrade but you should follow up with those anyway.

Yeah that labor seems high for that. The fronts are the ones that take time, I am not sure its a 4+ hour job though so I am not sure where the $500 is from. You should shop around. You would be better off saving for a whole kit and then just get them installed at the same time.

You've already done the best "bang for the buck" modification, the sway bars. They're cheap, easy install and really have no negatives. Most everything else you do will have a slight trade off. There isn't much else low hanging fruit to grab.

Springs/struts are great, but if you aren't doing the install yourself, it's not very cost effective. Lower control arms are nice, but won't make much of a difference in daily driving. Tires?

Like mentioned the rear shocks/springs is easy to do yourself. The front is more difficult but can be done if you have general experience working on cars. If you are paying to have them done then it is best to do the springs and struts at the same time since either way they both need to come out. Same goes for if you are doing it yourself, in fact it makes it easier since you don't need to remove the old struts or springs from each other, just swap out the whole strut/spring assembly with the new one. I mentioned the LCAs because you listed gears in your signature so I figured leaving the line is something you want to do, LCAs will improve that.

It usually depends. I adjust them after every session if needed on the track as needed. I track once a month. Thats just track specific though. I usually go to the local time attack course to test out different settings since its a technical course. I go to that one every other week.

And your opinions on v1 or eibach pro street s and koni sports
I want adjustable coils/ shocks and struts because around town i want easy suspension but if im going balls to the wall in the mountains i want a stiff suspension

Didn't I answer your thread about it? haha. I got my V3s for $1700 new, which was a steal. I was going to get the V1s because they perform extremely well but all my track junkie friends told me the downsides of nonadjustable dampers, so I just went balls to the walls. My V3s are fantastic btw :). To be honest, if you won't track your car, KW V3s are overkill. I recommend the BC or even megan coilovers. They're relatively cheap and offers great value; however, theyre only single adjustable so their not as flexible as the V3s. I never really considered upgraded springs+dampers because I want the height adjustments, but from what I heard, a lot of people enjoys them. I just like my suspension to be completely adjustable.

And no it will never be tracked hard and all the dampening and rebound adjustments i will probably never touch.

For improved handling under $500, I'd recommend Springs and Control Arms:

I installed these mods on my car before I upgraded the dampeners, and they made a HUGE improvement in handling (and the fun factor). And in all fairness, I have to admit that when I added the Konis later, they were a great improvement as well.
