Are you trying to set/adjust the idle? If so, are you aware that the idle is not adjustable via "a set screw"? The idle is controlled via the PCM/IAC and is not "adjustable" except by re-programming the PCM. Therefore if the idle is incorrect this likely means that something else is wrong.
In general trying to resolve idle problems by adjusting the 96+ idle stop set screw is a bad idea especially if not done correctly. Likely well create more problems than it resolves.
Here's some more detailed information on how to trouble shoot idle issues.
There is times when the idle will be real high at about 2000rpm most of the time its about 800rpm. Just curious to start fiddling with something. Thanks for the input!
^ Start simple and work your way to the more complicated things. Clean the MAF with MAF specific cleaner, check for vacuum leaks...i will say, almost all idle issues on our cars are vacuum leaks and/or the IAC. Let us know what you find and we can go from there.
I've cleaned both maf and iac. I got maf spotless as far the iac it was caked with carbon. Let it idle yesterday but earlier it was erratic with some surging. As far as the power surging idk I have a PA performance alternator. How do I go about checking for vacuum leaks I'm pretty sure hose' are the thin red ones. Thanks
