I recently had some problems with my tach so I bought a used one. My question is ...is there a diffrence from an 8 cylinder stock tack to a 4 cylinder sotck tach..I installed the one I bought and as soon as you tap the gas it goes to 4000 rpm...
I have also heard though of some guys having tack problems with a stock tach and an msd coil which I have..

I dont know about the '87 and up tachs, but on the older tachs there where two styles 6000 or 7000 rpm. On the 7K tachs there is a switch for 4,6, or 8 cylinders.
