Stole my stereo...

998 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  killamuh50
Some ***** last night smashed my passenger window and stole my cd player, and with it they took the plastic piece in the dash that it's mounted to. Where can I find a replacement one of these? Also, how easy is it to replace a window, I have power windows.

Sorry to hear. Exactly the same thing happened to me, they smashed my window, stole my CD player and broke my dash.

I found the dash part I needed on eBay. My window wasn't that hard to install. Adjusting it to go up to the correct height was the hard part. I sure hope the Fox body is a little easier than mine was.
You can get generic made radio facia panels specificly for the '87 - '93 at most car-audio places - at least you could a few years ago. The window is kind of a pain, remove interior panel, and then the big aluminum tube which the window rides up and down on, should be just two or three nuts.
Back in the mid 1970s, C.B. radios were popular. Everybody had them mounted under the dash (Eight Tracks too). Naturally, they were hot with the thieves as well. My dad told me that one of his friends had attached some fish hooks up in the dash behind his C.B.:sterb:
I got a cd player dash install kit for my 90 GT at Best Buy, it was like 20-25 bucks.
well looks like idiots broke your car window to steal a stereo, that sucks. I woulnt even have to break your window to get it. Id get right in the car without breaking anything and without a key set there take my time unscrew it and unhook the harnesses. obviously they dont know too much about 87 to 93 mustangs or they could have did this but that sucks invest in a motion alarm one from crutchfield has a microwave sensor on it so if anyone even walks up to the car it will go off. look on ebay im sure you can find a replacement radio bezel on there.
