Stripe painting Cost

I got two estimates that were very close and both very expensive ($2000).

I currently have vynl stripes, but I've found that vynl sucks and shrinks.

Any idea of what I should pay for a stripe job w/ black out.

The stripe will cover the hood, roof, trunk lid, spoiler, and black out.

I just recently got a quote for a custom paint stripe job where I would have one solid stripe down the middle with a thin stripe on each side for the hood, roof, trunk and spoiler for about a $1,000.

cost for stripes

Mine Cost $940. The first quote from another shop was $1700.

In any case, the guy at the body shop removed the front grill, fender, hood, trunk lisd, spoiler, and rear facsia. Sanded, painted stripes, clear coated them and filled the holes in the front fascia from the license plate.

He did a really great job and I tipped him

They stated they would have to removed the front an rear glass in order to paint where you couldn't see the yellow.

So were these $1000 prices inclusive of that?

It sounds like I need to go elsewhere.
You don't need to mess w/ removing glass! That would be a huge can of worms. We're not painting a Deusenburg here! My White '06 w/ pearl blue "over" stripes is done. The rocker "G.T.350" stencil just came in, and the painter will shoot the rocker stripes this weekend. The car looks awesome, and I get sooo much attention. I'll post some pics after the final paintwork. I removed my grilles, windshield washer nozzles, etc. I laid out and drilled the hood for the Roush Scoop, and fitted the CDC chin spoiler. I did all the stripe layout, with Shelby's original dimensions, using a laser and Sharpie for final stripe boundaries. Using a laser also confirmed my initial rough measurements. there's no doubt that the stripes are right. The painter was impressed. This made his job easy, and the car was masked and painted the same day. Painted stripes is the ONLY way to go. No discussion!

I agree, your car really looks gorgeous !
Mine was about $2000 and that was also to fix the first paint job that was bad. They did a similar one to mine and it was about $1300 where they did not have to "fix" anything. Both jobs were amazing.
Got same stripes as you do.

I opted vinyl, which was 450$ and I was quoted with $700 to paint. That wasn't with black out back. I definetly have no compliants with the vinyl. what trouble are you having?

guys...I am a auto painter. been doin it for 23 years. I have striped 2 cars so far. 1 for $800 no rocker stripes..and 1 for $1000 with rocker stripes...and I think thats cheap! its time consuming as heck. I did not clear coat the entire panels...base coat clear coat stripes. NO NEED TO REMOVE ANY GLASS!!! rope the Windshield molding..... the back glass is no problem at all. I removed the washer nozzels...the rear spoiler...the GT center cap and the 3rd brake light and rear tag.
I just did my own 06 GT which was free by the way :) samething just stripes no clearcoating the entire panels. I also painted my mirrors...big improvment. removed the GT from the fenders for the running pony emblems :) havent got the G.T. 300 for my rockers yet...soon :) I have a hood scoop comimg too :) Mick

I'm paying $1100 for 2 shelby stripes. Layout stripes, remove bumpers, sand, paint, 2 coats of clear on the entire panel.
$900 including two coats of clear on all panels painted. More pics in my gallery.

The large vinyl stripe started shrinking after about 6 months. 8months into it it now looks like crap... I'm having it removed tomorrow.

"Vinyl is for houses, Paint is for cars.", -a tee-shirt.
I paid about $1000.00 and did the following:

1.Add a Mach 1 blackout panel with the outer 1/4" stripe done on my hood. then Clearcoat the entire hood (2 coats)
2. Remove, paint, and clearcoat the rocker panels.
3. Remove, paint and clearcoat the rear spoiler.
4. Remove the rear valence and painted the lower lip.
5. Paint, clearcoat and install a CDC chin spoiler.
6. Paint, clearcoat and install a Xenon hood scoop.

I installed the CDC rear window spoilers myself, and the lower stripes are in - so back I go.:laughlitt
Parts added about another $800.00, and the vinyl door stripes should be about another $100.

I paid $750.00 but I was not completly satisfied. The guy left overspray on my front panel and needed more paint on the rear deck. Overall, it looks great. I am taking the car back to a second paint shop for three coats of clear. That will run me another K. See pics before tinting and louvers.
