Sunday night I changed out the header gasket, it was blown out in the back pretty bad so the noise from the exhaust leak is gone. I don't know if its still ticking because it was only making the noise under a load so this weekend I will be looking at that.... its driving me crazy not to be able to check it out till then!

If you use a copper gasket, you won't have the problem of your header gasket blowing out on you. They're a little more money, but well worth the money you'll spend, Mike. :bigthumbsup:bigthumbsup

I went with the felpro "performance" gasket. I think it blew out because it was a gasket for a stock header and the exhaust valves on these heads are 2.02.

You will be fine with the felpros and remember to retorque them after a few heat cycles.
there was 2 bolts that came loose, so we tightened them down then realised the gasket was blown out, i couldent hear anything over the exaust leak to tell what was making noise.

that's not the reason...and the intake valves would be 2.02,not the exhaust...standard header gaskets suck and blow out all the time..i prefer solid copper as well...ive reused mine like 4 times already
