Hey guys. I’m thinking of getting a Paxton 2200 or a Procharger D1SC within the next few months. I know the stock 3v “safe” numbers are lets say around 450ish rwhp at 9psi. If I get supporting mods such as LT headers/mid pipe, CMDP and a Intake manifold and free up another 50rwhp, will I be more at risk to blow an engine being around 500+rwhp at 9psi compared to 450rwhp with a good tune? Even though the engine is breathing better?

Thanks guys

Assuming you're talking about a 2005-2010 GT with a stock 4.6 3v, torque is your main concern, not horsepower. You can run around 500rwhp using the Paxton 2200 because it's only pushing around 450rwtq. Your issue is going to be if you ever go with forged internals and want to max it out. An SL unit is maxed out around 550-570rwhp before the oil slinger is in danger. If you're wanting more, you'll need an oil fed unit that taps into your oil pan.

Call Brenspeed and talk to them about your intentions.
