Is anyone using the Systemax II on 331 stroker?? I have a good deal on one but I think it uses the standard 65mm throttle body and MAF. I have a 70mm that I was going to use on the Edelbrock before I found it is messed up and decided not to use... Can you just open up the entrance to the plenum to match the larger throttle body and would work ok???? Or would be better going after an Explorer?? I assume either would have the same problem on the 65mm. I was told the systemax uses the Ford truck manifold design and it own on the top section.
thanks

I'd go with the systemax, its a great intake. The bottom is based off of a truck bottom and the top is the more popular style being used by most of the aftermarket for top end power.

What about the throttle body size difference??? Should I be concerned???
thanks

A 70mm throttle body is what would be best for you, and if it's smaller than 70mm, just open it up. Put the gasket up to it and compare. It's made of aluminum so it can be ported fairly easily.

The throttle opening on the Systemax is 75mm

So putting a 70mm throttle body will be fine, correct??? I know someone that has a 75 TB for sale.. I have a 70 MAF so would be better staying with the 70 MAF and 70 TB or go with the 75 TB and 70 MAF????

it won't make that much difference - if you get a good buy on a 75mm unit - use it, but I'd also use a larger MAF with it..

Systemax looked good so bought it.. It also has a 70mm opening so that works out good for the throttle body I had for the Edlebrock.. Only thing I noticed different is on the bottom manifold, it has the Ford numbers so pretty sure it is a truck intake manifold. The only thing I noticed is there is no place to plug in the PCV valve.. I am assuming that the trucks keep it in the valve covers at that time. Looks like an 87 model (E7)... Has anyone else ran across this??? Any other options for PCV?????

Can anyone answer this question about the location of PCV on the mid 80's trucks????? Would there be another option other than the valve covers since their is no place in the intake to mount???
thanks
