i have a hard banging underneath my car wen i lose traction or throttle it over bumps i had rear control arm put in and that didnt fix it, someone suggested trying a new trans mount but i cant find any after market polyurethane mounts so i have a couple of questions

1. do u think my vibration and banging is because of the trans mount?

2. will a 99-04 trans mount work in my car (the 99 gt used the cobra transmission from 96-99 which all have t-45s the mounts just further back on the car)

3. has anyone had this problem? i have a very aggressive clutch and i dnt no if a stock replacement mount will fix it

help please!

I just recently replaced my clutch and saw my mount was bad. I went to checker and saw the mount looked weak. I found that a tranny mount for a 2000 ford f-150 tranny mount was a direct bolt on and it is BEEFY lol. I did need to drill out aprox 1/8 in. of metal from the bracket that goes across because the bolts are thicker also two new nuts. Hope this helps:smilie

Is that with a manual or auto, or does it even make a difference? I can't remember, good to know though.
It makes a difference. My trans mount was broke clean in half, I could lift the whole trans and motor from under the car. The manual mount has the bolt holes offset more than the auto, I know cause the ford dealership gave me a mount for a auto, I didnt tell them it was a manual. Make sure you get the right one and try to get it from the dealership, much better than the autozone crap one.
