Tank dropped , should I get it ready for the battery?

552 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  RLG34750
I dont want to take the fuel tank back down if I dont have to. Should I get what is needed to fasten the battery box down and basically drill the holes and put the bolts and such in now, even though I dont have the battery kit bought yet?

Just wondering , maybe I have to wait till I buy the kit. Or do I go to ACE hardware store and buy whats needed, and install it now?

yeah, i would. Maybe get some wire and run it now if you can. i dont recommend but YOU MUST. put a rubber grommet in ANY hole you drill through the frame/unibody that has a power wire going through it. especially right by the gas tank. But anywho.. Ground the battery as close as possible.. i'd suggest 4 AWG wire for ground and 4 AWG power to the solinoid. Good luck and happy motoring! :wavey

edit: feel free to laugh at any grammar or punctuation errors i make :elephant:
Thanks for chiming in. I mainly want to know only what I have to do while the tank is out. Ie get the bolts and nuts and washers and measure and drill and put these in ? That sort of thing!

I will look at the website (taylor I think) and see what it looks like.
hmmm

Looks to me like this stuff all comes w the kit, so I may just have to wait till I get the kit. thanks guys.

also heres a ?

Does a alutima battery fit in these common kit boxes or should I look out for a fit issue on one of these kits? :headscratch:
