Texas version of the Nürburgring

Went out for a drive with a good friend of mine. Destination, the Three Sisters. If you don't know about them, they're 3 crazy fun routes to drive out near the town of Leaky, TX. Routes 335, 336, and 337. Definitely not for the faint of heart. Breath taking views, blind corners, sweeping bends, and everything in between. If if gets too much, just slow down a little... increase your pace to turn your knuckles white. At all times keep your eyes on the road for rocks or tractors, lol. Here are just a few pics. Here is a link to the rest of the full res pics: Nürburgring of Texas - a set on Flickr

That's all for now folks. I hope you enjoyed them. If you get a chance, get out there and enjoy it. If you have a GoPro, strap it on. I need one.

If I was driving down that road by the lake and I saw your car, I'd be in that lake not even upset because I just saw a beasty 5.0!
lol, thanks man. I had a good friend with me so we could take turn driving/enjoying the views. Its a whole other feeling not driving the car. I think I almost wet myself. lol
That is awesome. I'm on the other side of the Red River in the OKC area and everything is pretty flat and straight. The few times I have been on curvy roads it has been a blast but nothing like that. Enjoy it and I love your car! Thanks for the pics.
Remember, my wheels are gloss piano black. They look matte black because of the 90 miles of twists and blind curves.
Nice pictures. Great roads! I've ridden the 3 sisters on my Buell. Yet to do it in the car. Wonder if it is just as fun in the car as it is on the bike.

Maybe we should do a 3 sisters group ride.
By the way I love the look of your slammed GT. I wonder how the ride is compared to the stock.
I lowered my 97 GT an inch or so, can't remember the exact drop. It handled better and rode just like stock when it came to comfort. Is yours as comfortable as it was in stock form?
Nice pictures! That looks a lot greener than I thought it might be out there this time of year with the drought.
As always, outstanding stuff Digital!!! The car looks better every time I see it. :bigthumbsup
Great pix as usual DS! Jealous we don't have anything like that down here in S. Florida
beautiful pics of car ...what camera where you using?

Better than stock by a mile. Eibach Sportlines, Koni Sports, and Fays2 Watts Link. Stock LCAs, afraid of snap oversteer sending me over a ledge.

The diamond back is my favorite...
The Diamondback is loaded with switchbacks that double back almost 360-degrees, strings of linked S-curves and a steady climb through lush green forest.
The Diamondback has over 190 curves in a 12-mile loop.
The Diamondback is in great shape for riding or driving - smooth pavement, well marked centerlines with reflectors and very little traffic.

By the way...you should do photo shoots..those shots are impressive.

Here is a nice pic from a look out on the diamond back..... You make those 190 turns in what seems like 3 minutes..man its fun.

I want to go back soon...but to be honest, its more fun in the Rx8 (except when exiting the curves where the 5.0 just fricken rocks)....at anyway , i need to find a way to leave the wife at home when i go again...

Any ideas?

Blue ridge parkway is an awesome road. Miles and miles of twisty roads with lots of elevation changes. Again only been on it with motorcycle, but found myself breaking the speed limit by as much as 70 MPH because there are long stretches of 30 MPH zone, I think the highest speed limit we saw was 55 MPH.

I had never heard of the Diamondback, will have to try it next time.
