Man, when I hear stories about dealers diagnosing sounds and telling you from that, "You need a new engine," I just cringesj357 said:I have a 2000 GT and had the ping/knocking/ticking in the engine that I read from other posts. After taking it to a couple of dealerships I heard they wanted the engine replaced, and one guys said it was a lifter problem. I came aboard here and read all pertinent posts and decided to change my plugs, even though I replaced them a few months ago. Simple fix and it worked. Now I am going to replace all the coil packs. I wanted to thank all of you for posting. It helped me tremendously.
Just wanted to say thanks, what a great forum.
