i just replaced my o/r x pipe for an o/r h pipe. on my drive home tonight i was rolling about 20 mph in second gear and mashed the gas and there was a big hesitation. this never happend with my x pipe. there is no leaks, o2 sensors are fine and it was installed by me and two other ford mechanics at the ford dealership. i dont understand what the problem could be. i have an emailed tune by doug at bama. i wouldnt think i would need a new tune do u guys?

Contact Doug and see what he says.
yeah but i figure if i ask the man who sold me the tune, then he would say yes to get another $75. i need an opinion that isnt bias.

P.S. and no i didnt buy the tuner off him so no freebies im sure
Traction control kicking in maybe? Mine roasts em at 20 in 2nd... hehehe

If it is the tune Doug WILL NOT charge you again to update it.
There's nothing to change in the tune.
Agreed.

If the tune was working before it should be running just fine now.
I used to trip the breaker I have wired into my trunk mounted battery when the car was going to be sitting for a while. This year I got a new battery because the first one took a dump (Optima replaced under warranty after 2 years, great company). I wired in a Battery Tender lead to the new one and plug the car in every time the car its parked opposed to tripping the breaker.

Since spring my car has been running worse and worse. It started running like I had a carb that was WAY TOO BIG or a oversized accelerator pump or accelerator pump cam (yes I know it doesn’t have a carb). It got so bad that it would almost load up and quit if I tried to roll the throttle I 5-10% at 75mph to pass a car. Don’t even get me started about getting it out of lights.

I sent my MSD coils back to get checked out

I swapped out the plugs

I set up the TPS

I looked for codes

I cleaned the fuel filter (I have one of those huge anodized Walbro jobbies)

….and nothing made any bit of difference.

I was all ready to take it in and get it on the dyno ($$$$$) and see if there was anything to find out and not too happy about it. Then for the hell of it I threw a Hail Mary Pass and tripped the battery breaker for a night and took it for a drive the next morning…….

…….the car ran like it was stone stock! Absolutely perfect. I have all of my adaptive learning stuff turned off but apparently Ford has a few tricks still in the ECU.

My advice is when all else fails disconnect the battery for a while to reset the ECU and get things back to zero. I would never have guessed that the adaptive learning would make such a massive difference, even when it was turned off.:headscratch:

I don't think Doug would do that.

I would just reload the tune to see if that would help. adaptive learning
Would be an idea to install the factory tune before disconnecting the battery and then reinstalling the custom tune once the battery is reconnected. It probably shouldn't make a difference, but just wondering what others think.
