A buddy of mine has a cobra and ever since I bought my 03 gt, has told me to lower my car. I'm actually thinking about it now. A few questions though. What will it do to the overall ride? I buy all my stuff from americanmuscle.com so which springs would be the best for the buck. Do I need anything else besides the lowering springs? And most importantly how difficult is the installation? Thanks

It may make the ride a little bumpier but the handling should improve considerably. I've been very happy with my Steeda Ultralight springs. You'll need a spring compressor for the front struts.

The ride is a "bumpier". But really, who drives their stangs on crappy, bumpy roads. It helped tremendously in the canyons though. I am sort of a BBK fan....that was my choice...and am very happy with them. But, you can never go wrong with any Steeda product.
I had a shadetree mechanic install them for me....too many broken jaw stories for me to tackle myself. He charged me a $100 for all four corners. Love the "look" it gave my car. DO IT.:bigthumbsup

What about this spring compressor for the fronts? I have never heard of this?
Also I heard something about needing new caster camber plates after its lowered?

You can borrow one from Autozone. It's a must for safety. You will need to add some negative camber so new adjustable strut mounts are a good idea. www.stangsuspension.com has a good selection.

I purchased the Ford Racing Springs and they dropped my car 1.5 inches all the way around. Yes to the Spring Compression tool as STLWAGON suggests!!!! You will need a camber adjuster as well afterwards for your front tires. They will lean in on the top. I dropped my rear tires ONE at a Time. This kept the rear from moving L/R.

Yeah i just had the Ford Motorsport Springs installed on mine a couple weeks ago and it lowered it 1.5 in. in the front and about 1 in. the rear. And look into getting caster camber plates for the front alignment.
