I have used the Meguiars clay bar with great results, I don't think there is any difference between the brands. By the way, it's cheaper than the Zaino one, I got mine at Meijers, Auto stores should have it too.

Dawn get's rid of old wax so you have a clean slate to work on.
Claying is when you use a clay bar, you can get these just about anywhere they sell car stuff. Its a small bar of clay that you use with the lube (wetting agent that comes with it) to remove particles from your car to make the finish smooth as a baby's tush.
If you drop the clay bar on the ground, you are supposed to pitch it as it is as bad as dropping your bread with butter side down on the floor.
After you do all that then you can wax or use Zaino which is not a wax but more like a polymer. You can go to Zaino's website for more info. After all that you want to use a car washing soap rather than Dawn so you don't remove all the work you just did. :eyebulge:
Zaino is nice because it doesn't leave nasty residue on all the molding\plastic parts on the car.
