Hey i was just wondering how everyone else stands on the professional products typhoon intake (knock off edelbrock). I have one on the setup im running now wich is stock block with gt40p heads, fr Bcam ,fr 24lb injectors ,70mm tb and egr spacer, cold air intake, underdrive pullys, maf conversion with sct chip and bbk exhaust. I mean my car runs great dont get me wrong but when i was building the motor i ran into so many problems with the intake setup. i went through 3 lowers just because of messed up bolt threads and off set thermostat housing. All i can say is next time around im going a diffrent route.

Never had an issue and I've installed many Professional Product manifolds on Ponies out here... You must have gotten a few "friday at 4pm'ers" lol...

Yeah, know what you mean on that. When I was installin my intake the threads were really tight too, had to run them a few times to get the bolts in there just right without snapping one off in the intake. The thermostat too, yeah it was a little tricky too. But once I got it all done and fixed up I don't regret a thing bout it. Hell i even had the intake ported proffesionally when I had my entire motor built, this was at a racing shop.

Yeah not to knock it but if you buy an intake only to have it worked by a machine shop to get it right then something is wrong there. The reason these chinese companies sell so cheap as they don't maintain their molds and use inferior quality metal to justify the cost.

For the money spent on that intake I would rather spend it on a Cobra/Exploder and have that hogged out and still undercut the price of the Prof. Prod. and flow much better!!!

Its funny you say that they use cheap metal smurf stang i was wondering if that was the case because it seemed very soft and brittle.

"buy the best you'll never be disappointed...", I understand trying to save money, but this is not the place I'd cut corners

For the money it will cost to port a cobra/explorer...

The Typhoon will outflow it flow it for equal or less money especially i you have it ported.....

The intake is basically an Edelbrock Performer.....

Also the last few typhoon's i have seen they have looked great comimg out of the box......

So it really isn't a bad manifold considering the price.....

So your saying that if I pick up a GT40 for $100 or so and drop the rest into porting that its going to flow what a Typhoon flows? I gotta disagrees.

Thats is exactly what i saying......

look at this way would a edelbrock performer out flow a GT40......

It virtually the same manifold......

But you are entitled to disagree........
